SMS Consent & Opt-In
Effective: April 28, 2026
This page documents how Souvenir Photograph obtains consent before sending SMS messages, the literal consent statements subscribers agree to, and the literal messages they receive. Souvenir Photograph operates two distinct messaging programs, each with its own opt-in flow: customer photo-gallery delivery, and staff / client / partner operational messaging.
1. Customer photo-gallery delivery
A single transactional SMS sent to end customers after a photo session at a photographer-staffed venue, containing the secure link to view their photos.
The opt-in flow
Souvenir Photograph is a photography platform. Photographs are captured by a photographer at a venue (theme park, mall, ski resort, museum, event, etc.) and delivered to the customer via a text message containing a link to a private photo gallery.
Customers opt in to receive one SMS by following these steps, in order, on the photographer's mobile capture device:
- The customer asks the photographer for their photos.
- The photographer hands the customer a phone running the SP Capture mobile app, open to a consent screen titled "Get your photos".
- The customer types their own mobile phone number into a labeled input field.
- The customer reads the consent statement (shown verbatim below) and ticks an unchecked checkbox to indicate agreement.
- The customer taps the "Send My Photos" button. The button is disabled until both the phone number is valid and the consent checkbox is ticked.
The photographer never types the customer's phone number on the customer's behalf, and never ticks the consent checkbox on the customer's behalf — both actions are physically performed by the customer themselves on the device.
Consent statement (customer)
Exact text shown next to the checkbox on the customer consent screen:
"I agree to receive one text message from Souvenir Photograph with a link to my photo gallery. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Each consent action is recorded server-side in the sms_consent_captures audit table with the customer's phone number, the literal consent text shown, the consent version identifier, the timestamp, the venue location, and the consent method ("self_entry" for this program).
Sample message (customer)
Representative example. The venue name and gallery link vary per session; the rest of the body is fixed.
Souvenir Photograph: Your photos from Kerry Park Seattle are ready! View: https://www.spphotostation.com/gallery/abc123XYZ Reply STOP to opt out. HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.
Frequency + content (customer)
Customers receive at most one (1) SMS per photo session. We do not send marketing messages, promotional offers, recurring announcements, or unsolicited content of any kind. Every message is a transactional notification containing the gallery link the customer specifically requested.
2. Staff, client, and property-partner operational messaging
Variable-frequency broadcasts from client administrators to their staff, contracted photographers, and property-partner contacts — covering shift reminders, venue closures, daily report alerts, and similar operational notifications. Subscribers for this program are professionals who work with Souvenir Photograph or our client venues, not end customers.
The opt-in flow
Staff members, client admins, and property-partner contacts opt in via a checkbox on the appropriate signup form during their account onboarding. The consent checkbox is optional on these forms — the user can complete signup without ticking it, in which case they will never receive operational SMS messages.
Consent statement (staff / client / partner)
Exact text shown next to the checkbox on all three onboarding forms:
"I agree to receive text messages from Souvenir Photograph for operational updates, team communications, and business alerts. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, HELP for help."
Sample message (operational)
Representative example.
Souvenir Photograph: Reminder — South Hill Mall opens 10am Saturday. Photographer scheduled: Sarah K. Reply STOP to opt out.
Both programs
Opt-out (STOP)
Subscribers can opt out of all SMS from Souvenir Photograph at any time by replying STOP to any message they have received. Opt-outs are honored across programs — replying STOP to a customer gallery link also opts the same phone number out of any future operational messaging, and vice versa.
Help (HELP)
Subscribers can request help at any time by replying HELP to any message. Direct support contact: support@spphotostation.com
Sender identification
Every message — customer or operational — identifies Souvenir Photograph as the sender in the first word of the message body.
No third-party sharing
Phone numbers collected for either messaging program are not shared, rented, sold, or otherwise distributed to any third parties for marketing, advertising, lead generation, or any other purpose. Phone numbers are shared only with our SMS delivery provider, which is contractually prohibited from using subscriber data for its own purposes. A current list of our sub-processors, including the identity of our SMS provider, is available on request. See our Privacy Policy for details.
